I had the opportunity to take part in the ideation day which aimed to create a project to make our school more sustainable and eco-friendly. As a result, we formed a team of 8 people, called Eco Lover7. Our project objective was to power down the computers that operate during the night in N7, in an effort to save on energy costs and decrease the carbon footprint of the school. With the lose of energy because of consumption attributed to computers operating overnight, we identified an opportunity to contribute to sustainability efforts and cost savings.

To address the need for computers to remain powered on to ensure VPN connectivity, the project aimed to develop an application specifically designed to monitor remote connections made to the school's computers through the VPN. This application would enable us to selectively deactivate a sufficient number of computers, thus reducing the environmental costs associated with the school. Indeed, during the late hours of the night, computers are highly unlikely to be in use, making it feasible to power them down.
